Leadership at The River

Raised in the Willamette Valley, Jerry left a career in retail in 1991 to pursue his pastoral calling. He has served as a children’s pastor, Christian school principal, church planter, and pastor, and he and his wife, Cindy, have ministered together for 30+ years. They planted the church in 2002, moved it to Oregon City in 2013, and helped establish its permanent home in 2019. During a normal week, Jerry teaches God’s Word, prays with people, provides pastoral care, and helps guide the church’s vision.

Jeff came to faith in Christ while studying engineering at Oregon State University, where he later met his wife, Kari. They began serving college students together, attended Multnomah Biblical Seminary, and now have five children. In 2012, Jeff helped plant Renew Church in Oregon City, which joined ministries with Connection Church in 2025 before becoming The River Church in 2026. During a normal week, Jeff teaches God’s Word, shepherds people, and helps guide the church according to its core values.
